Jewelers Apps ("we," "us," or "our") operates the KaratAI, KaratSync, and KaratCare applications (collectively, the "Apps"), which are distributed through the Shopify App Store. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you install or use our Apps.
1. Information We Collect
When you install our Apps, we access data from your Shopify store as permitted by the OAuth scopes you approve during installation. Depending on the App, this may include:
- Product data (titles, descriptions, variants, prices, metafields)
- Order data (order IDs, line items, customer names and email addresses associated with orders)
- Shop information (store name, currency, timezone, plan)
- Customer contact information associated with repair orders (KaratCare only)
We do not collect payment card numbers, bank account details, or any government-issued identification.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the data we access solely to provide the functionality of the App you have installed:
- KaratAI: Product data is used to generate appraisal documents. We do not store your product data beyond what is required to generate and deliver the requested appraisal.
- KaratSync: Product and variant data is used to update costs and prices according to the schedules and rules you configure. Price history is stored to power your reporting dashboard.
- KaratCare: Repair job data, customer contact information, and order data are stored to manage the repair workflow and send status notifications to customers.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your store data or your customers' data with any third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. We may share data with:
- Service providers: Infrastructure and hosting providers (e.g., Supabase, Vercel) that process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements.
- Shippo (KaratCare only): Shipping label generation requires sharing recipient name and address with Shippo's API. Shippo's privacy policy governs their use of this data.
- Legal obligations: We may disclose data if required by law or valid legal process.
4. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your store has our App installed. When you uninstall an App, we will delete or anonymize your store's data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or legitimate business need (e.g., billing records).
5. Security
We follow industry-standard security practices, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. We comply with Shopify's Partner Program requirements and request only the minimum permissions each App needs to function.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you or your customers. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@jewelers.app.
7. Children's Privacy
Our Apps are not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of our Apps after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
