Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the KaratAI, KaratSync, and KaratCare applications (the "Apps") provided by Jewelers Apps ("we," "us," or "our"). By installing or using any of our Apps, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

To use our Apps, you must operate a valid Shopify store and agree to Shopify's Terms of Service. You represent that you have the authority to bind the business entity associated with your Shopify store.

2. License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Apps for your internal business operations. You may not resell, sublicense, or distribute the Apps or use them to build a competing product.

3. Free Plans and Paid Subscriptions

KaratAI and KaratSync offer a permanent free plan with limited usage. KaratCare offers a 14-day free trial on all paid plans. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Shopify's native billing system. Prices are displayed in USD and may change with 30 days' notice. Refunds are handled per Shopify's App Store refund policy.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Apps for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulations
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Apps
  • Use automated scripts to abuse API limits or overload our systems
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity
  • Use the Apps to send unsolicited communications or spam

5. Your Data

You retain ownership of all data you bring to the Apps, including your Shopify store data, product information, and customer data. By using the Apps, you grant us a limited license to process this data solely to provide the App functionality. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

6. Accuracy of App Outputs

KaratAI generates appraisal documents using AI and data from your Shopify product pages. These documents are provided as a convenience tool and are not a substitute for professional appraisals by a certified gemologist or appraiser. We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated descriptions or valuations. You are solely responsible for reviewing and approving all appraisal content before delivering it to customers.

KaratSync updates product prices based on market data feeds. We do not guarantee the accuracy or timeliness of metal spot price data. You are responsible for reviewing price changes before they are applied to your live store.

7. Disclaimers

THE APPS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APPS WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL JEWELERS APPS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APPS, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE APPS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

9. Termination

You may terminate these Terms at any time by uninstalling the Apps from your Shopify store. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Apps if you violate these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your license to use the Apps ends immediately.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before taking effect. Your continued use of the Apps after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.
